Low-cost, High-quality Proofreading for Christian Manuscripts

The Christian Proofreaders’ Blog

Hi there! If you love words, have a keen eye for written detail, and you need language to be used correctly, this blog is for you. Stay tuned for proofreading tips, tricks, and wordsmithing fun (hey, is wordsmithing even a word?)—the type of fun that others may make fun of us for. No matter! Better proofreading means we’ll produce better novels, stories, books, blogs, articles, letters, and insert favorite form of writing here.

And that’s something to be proud of.

The proofreading proof is in the details. For example, one little letter or mark can change the entire meaning of a word or sentence.

Take this blog entry’s title: “The Christian Proofreaders’ Blog.” That means this is a blog for Christian proofreaders—as in, plural. For more than one proofreader to enjoy. (Hopefully many, many! But I digress. Oooh, how’s that for a word? Digress. Love it.) Anyway, that apostrophe after the s indicates possession for all those proofreaders. This is their blog.

If, however, I’d labeled this entry “The Christian Proofreader’s Blog,” with the apostrophe before the s, that would mean it’s a blog for only one lonely proofreader. Very sad.

Details, people, details.

And rules.

We proofreaders like rules. 😉

And yes, the word we is correct there, not us. Do a simple test by taking out the word proofreaders and it’s easy to see: We like rules. Or: Us like rules.

Now that’s a no-brainer.

We wins.

Or is that we win?

Just kidding. 😉

Or am I?

Don’t worry, I intend to be more helpful in future posts. Honest.

I was just having a little wordsmithing fun.
